107 Interagency Coordination

Policy

The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program coordinates with other agencies to improve conditions for residents of long-term care facilities and to make appropriate referrals.

Procedures

  1. The LTCOP shall develop relationships with other programs and agencies with resources, services, and/or interests which could benefit residents, including, but not limited to:

    1. Healthcare Facility Regulation (HFR).

    2. Adult Protective Services.

    3. Elderly Legal Assistance Program and other elder rights programs and services.

    4. Regional offices and community service boards of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.

    5. Law enforcement.

    6. Care coordinators of Medicaid-waiver community-based services such as the Community Care Services Program.

    7. The Social Security Administration.

    8. Medicaid eligibility units of the Department of Family and Children Services.

    9. Protection and advocacy programs (i.e. the Georgia Advocacy Office).
