Requirements

Apply the appropriate standard deduction to each Assistance Unit (AU).

Basic Considerations

Apply the standard deduction to the AU’s total countable income for all AUs.

The standard deductions are adjusted annually based on the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) cost of living adjustments (COLA).

The standard deductions are as follows:
